My agenda is from the people living here
I am a Councillor for Skye and Raasay. I was elected on the 20th of June 2025 as one of four Councillors for Eilean a’ Cheò, Ward 10, for The Highland Council.
I will always put the communities and businesses of Skye and Raasay first. I am working with other Highland Independent Councillors. While I am happy working along side all of the Councillors, I remain free from any party ties.
I believe in the power of our communities and their ability to collaborate and overcome challenges together.
This website was originally started to share my research and what I am learning through my various roles. This will be shared as soon as I carve some time.

Who am I?
Some of you may know me as Chrissie
Raasay and from my work around
Community Development. I was raised
on Raasay, studied at Portree High School
and then University at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on
Skye. I have lived and worked here for much
of my adult life, and I am acutely aware of
the impact Highland Council has on our daily
lives.

Housing
There is a housing crisis. There are houses but those needing access to residential properties, to homes, face significant barriers. How are people expected to invest their time and efforts in the community without the security of their own home? I was told today that a current project to build a small two bedroom house
